The general response to "what's wrong?"

Is usually “nothing.”
Why is it that “nothing” is our general response?
Is it because by saying nothing’s wrong we feel that nothing is truly wrong.
Or perhaps in saying nothing we think that the person asking will think that nothing is actually wrong and will let us suffer our nothing in peace.
But something is always wrong when “nothing” is wrong.

Hairdresser stuffed up my haircut
now I’m just going to isolate myself and stay home for a few weeks until it grows back a little.
Call me vain but I feel like crying. My medication makes it hard for my hair to grow so for it to be like it was yesterday made me happy, now it’s fucking short again and I’m going to have to wait probably about 4-6 months to get it back to that length :’(
